This workshop provides a practical introduction to CBT for Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD). Participants will explore the core cognitive and behavioural processes that maintain excessive worry and anxiety, and learn evidence-based CBT strategies to assess and treat GAD effectively. The workshop combines theory, case examples, and experiential exercises to support skill development and confidence in applying CBT interventions in practice.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Identify key assessment features and maintaining factors of GAD
- Understand the CBT model of Generalised Anxiety Disorder (Laval model).
- Formulate and plan a structured CBT intervention for individuals presenting with GAD
- Apply core CBT interventions for GAD such as psychoeducation, behavioral experiments.
- Help you to support your clients in developing a different perspective on their experiences of worry and uncertainty.
