Workshop overview:
You know your subject. But do your learners leave your training actually changed, thinking differently, practicing differently and applying what they have learned back in their work? If there is a gap between your knowledge as a clinician and your confidence as a trainer, this workshop bridges it.
We have brought together the best evidence, practice and over 25 years of CBT training experience to give you a rich, practical toolkit for creating training that genuinely transfers into practice. Whether you are developing a new event or reimagining something you already deliver, you will leave with a concrete design ready to put into action, and a clearer, more energised sense of yourself as a trainer.
Expect an experiential day: you will be learning about interactive training through interactive training.
Learning objectives
By the end of the day, you will be able to:
- create a learning environment that skillfully balances challenge and support, drawing on andragogical principles and an understanding of learning models
- define what is meant by interactive, experiential training and why it is an invaluable additional way of learning
- identify your own learning style preferences and understand their implications for how you design and facilitate training for others
- structure training sessions using the learning cycle to encourage whole-person engagement, deep processing, and lasting retention across different sensory modalities
- select from a diverse range of interactive training methods and map them thoughtfully onto your learning objectives and audience
- apply principles of inclusive and accessible training design so that your events work for the full breadth of your participants, not just those who learn most like you
