Joined-up CBT for Survivors of Childhood Trauma – Online Zoom Workshop | 23 June 2026
CBT provides an effective, evidence-based approach for the wide range of difficulties experienced by survivors of childhood trauma. Our 18‑session programme integrates core CBT principles with targeted techniques to support people who share developmental adversity but present with varied problems. Originally designed for groups, it can also be used one-to-one or in innovative pair therapy, both of which can reduce stigma and isolation through shared experience.
The Oxford programme was featured in the Guardian (13 July 2015), where a participant described the group’s compassion and understanding as transformative. The workshop will consider who benefits most from group, pair or individual formats, and how to adapt CBT accordingly. Attendees will be guided through the full programme, refined in Oxford over more than 25 years.
CBT offers effective treatment for a range of psychological problems using a set of empirically founded principles. Survivors of childhood trauma often suffer post-traumatic problems that encompass a range of difficulties and so CBT is well placed to help survivors of developmental adversity. Our 18-session programme does just that. It brings together general CBT principles and specific CBT techniques to create a treatment approach that helps people with a shared history even though they might h... READ MORE
