Delivered by renowned industry expert Alison Roberts who shares her invaluable insights and strategies, this workshop will introduce the idea of working with autistic and/or ADHD adults within a neuro-affirmative model. The focus will be on working with adults who don’t have an additional intellectual disability. We will consider the evidence base and resources available that can support this practice. The overlap between neurodivergent characteristics and psychological formulations of common mental health problems will be discussed. Possible adaptations will be considered as they apply to the different stages of assessment and therapy. The workshop will include several practical exercises in small groups and opportunities for plenty of discussion.
