CBT FOR PSYCHOSIS SPRING SCHOOL 2017


Following the success of our Easter School last year, we are delighted to bring you the CBT for psychosis Spring School 2017 This is a three day workshop programme featuring the latest advances in CBT for psychosis. SPRING SCHOOL workshop programme (21st to 23rd february 2017)

Day 1: Recovery and relapse prevention; CBT to stabilise sleep in acute settings; CBT implementation in services.

  • A cognitive interpersonal approach to emotional recovery and relapse prevention in psychosis  – Prof Andrew Gumley (University of Glasgow) & Prof Matthias Schwannaeur (University of Edinburgh).
  • CBT to stabilise sleep for patients admitted to an acute psychiatric inpatient ward – Dr Bryony Sheaves (University of Oxford) & Dr Louise Isham (University of Oxford, Oxford Cognitive Therapy Centre).
  • Uptake and implementation of CBT for psychosis in local services (the U&I project): service user and clinician perspectives and solutions – Dr Kathy Greenwood (University of Sussex).

 

Day 2: Promoting flexible thinking in paranoia; CBT for psychosis and substance misuse.

  • Slow Down for a Moment (The SlowMo Trial) – promoting flexible thinking in paranoia – Prof Philippa Garety (King’s College London) & Dr Tom Ward (King’s College London).
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for psychosis and substance misuse – Prof Gillian Haddock (University of Manchester).
     

Day 3: Working with negative symptoms; CBT for Bipolar Disorder.

  • Working with negative symptoms – Dr Louise Johns (University of Oxford).
  • Think Effectively About Mood Swings (TEAMS): A Novel CBT for Bipolar Disorder –   Dr Warren Mansell (University of Manchester).
