Operational definitions of competences needed (unless otherwise stated)
  • Our basic workshops are suitable for anyone who has at least one year of clinical experience (not necessarily in CBT).
  • Our intermediate workshops are directed towards people who already have knowledge of CBT and experience in using cognitive formulations & treatment methods - for instance they are able to identify & test automatic thoughts and design behavioural experiments.
  • Our advanced workshops are directed towards people who use CBT routinely as part of their clinical practice. They have probably undertaken a significant number of training courses / workshops & use a broad range of CBT strategies to work with a range of presentations at varying levels of complexity.

Cancellation

If you cancel more than 14 days prior to your booked event, we will refund your fee minus a charge of 15% to cover our administration costs. We regret that cancellations 14 days or less before the booked event cannot normally be refunded. If you wish to change your booking after confirmation we will do our best to accommodate you if there is space to do so, but there will be an administration charge of £15 per change.

Note on ‘Introduction to CBT’ courses

The 4 workshops of the Intro course build on each other, so that it is not possible to do Part 2 unless you’ve done Part 1, or Parts 3 & 4 unless you have done Parts 1 & 2. Most people do all 4 parts in one course. However, sometimes people cannot do all 4 parts in one course, and there may therefore be places available to do later parts even though earlier parts are fully booked. If you have done the necessary early parts of the course and you want to ‘top up’ with one or more later parts, it is always worth contacting OCTC to see whether there are any places available, even if the course is shown here as fully booked.
